CASA volunteers are changing the lives of foster children on the South Plains one child at a time. Wherever the child needs a voice, an advocate, or a mentor, the CASA volunteer is there.
CASA volunteers lift up the voices and lives of abused and neglected children. A child with a CASA volunteer is half as likely to spend time in long-term foster care as one without a volunteer advocate. And when that child leaves the system, he or she is much more likely to stay out of foster care. Permanently.
CASA of the South Plains served over 1,000 children this year in Lubbock, Hale, Cochran, Hockley, Terry and Yoakum counties. But, with nearly 1,200 children and youth passing through the foster care system each year on the South Plains, there are simply not enough volunteers to go around. That is why CASA of the South Plains has made a committment- a promise to our children - to put a CASA volunteer into the life of every child that needs one.
