Continuing Education: LGBTQ+ Youth in the Foster Care System
Overview:
In this workshop we will cover basic information, terminology, and mental health concerns of LGBTQ+ youth. This training will focus specifically on the unique trauma and experiences of LGBTQ+ youth who are living in the foster care system. We will discuss implicit biases that may exist for those working with these youth in the foster care system as well as ways we can work with these youth to provide support and advocate for their unique needs within the system.
This training has two sessions:
SESSION 1
9:00am - 10:30am -- Foundation for LGBTQ Inclusion
SESSION 2
10:30am - 12:00pm -- LGBTQ+ Youth in the Foster Care System
