CASA IMPACT! Silent Auction and Luncheon beats fundraising expectations!

CASA of the South Plains is excited to announce that due to the extraordinary support it received from community members and business partners, $72,865 was raised during its annual CASA IMPACT! Silent Auction and Luncheon on Thursday, November 14th. This is a 46% increase from its initial goal of $50,000. The funds raised will help recruit, train, and support CASA Volunteers who help make sure children in foster care have the voice of a consistent adult representing their best interest. Event attendees enjoyed a fantastic lunch catered by United Supermarkets, a silent auction with items graciously donated by local business partners, and heard compelling stories from a former foster youth, his CASA Volunteer, and Miss Texas' Outstanding Teen 2019, Allie Graves, as they shared their journeys through the foster care system to find forever homes. Congratulations to the Gamma Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at Texas Tech, this year’s winner of the Todd Monroe Reno Champion for Children Award. Thank you to everyone who attended and showed their support for CASA.

A CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocate, is a volunteer who helps a foster child navigate the child welfare system and ensure their needs are being met while working to help find safe, permanent homes. CASA Volunteers make a tremendous impact in the lives of the foster children they serve and more are needed to help make sure foster children do not have to face the chaos of the child welfare system alone.
