CASA of the South Plains is urging community members to join “Team CASA” and help meet the incredible demand for CASA Volunteers. A CASA, or a Court Appointed Special Advocate, helps a child in foster care navigate the child welfare system while working to ensure their needs are being met and to advocate for a safe, permanent home.
Individuals can learn more by attending the upcoming CASA 101 Informational Session on Wednesday, October 23rd from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the CASA office at 1215 Avenue J, on the second floor. This is a great, no-obligation introduction to CASA and its mission. CASA staff and current Advocates will be on hand to discuss the increasing need for volunteers, what it means to be a CASA, and how community members can help make a difference in the lives of children in foster care. This will be the FINAL CASA 101 Informational Session of 2019.
