Due to the incredible demand for more CASA Volunteers, CASA of the South Plains has added a “Pop-Up” Accelerated Volunteer Training Session to its volunteer training schedule. This will be the FINAL volunteer training session of 2019. By joining “Team CASA” as CASA Volunteers, individuals can make a profound difference in the life of a child in foster care. A CASA, or a Court Appointed Special Advocate, helps a child in foster care navigate the child welfare system while working to ensure their needs are being met and to advocate for a safe, permanent home.
To learn more about becoming a CASA Volunteer, community members are encouraged to attend the CASA 101 Informational Session on Thursday, October 10th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the CASA office at 1215 Avenue J, on the second floor. This is a great, no-obligation introduction to CASA and its mission. CASA staff and current Advocates will be on hand to discuss the increasing need for volunteers, what it means to be a CASA, and how community members can help make a difference in the lives of children in foster care.
To attend, please register at www.casaofthesouthplains.org or contact Patti Castro, Recruitment Director, by Wednesday, October 9th at (806) 763-2272 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
