CASA of the South Plains partners with the Parade of Homes for its Casas for CASA raffle fundraiser.

CASA of the South Plains is excited to announce that it has partnered with the West Texas Home Builders Association (WTHBA) to host its 12th Annual Casas for CASA raffle fundraiser as part of the Parade of Homes show June 10-25. Casas for CASA will be located in lot #124 on the corner of Avenue U and 102nd Street outside of Foxridge. Event hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the Parade of Homes, weather permitting.
Raffle tickets can be purchased for $5 each or 5 for $20 for the opportunity to win an incredible custom-built playhouse or doghouse.

Early ticket sales start Wednesday, May 10. Tickets may be purchased online at, from a CASA team member, or at the CASA office at 1215 Avenue J, Suite 301 during business hours, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tickets purchased early will be randomly entered to win a playhouse or doghouse or the buyer can hold on to their tickets and select the playhouse or doghouse of their choice at the Casas for CASA event starting June 10. The drawing will be held on Sunday, June 25 at 5:00 p.m. Attendance is not necessary to win.

The funds raised during the event will go directly to CASA of the South Plains to help to recruit, train, and support CASA volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected foster children. A CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocate, helps foster children navigate the child welfare system and ensure their needs are being met while working to help find safe, permanent homes. CASA volunteers work alongside attorneys and social workers. They interview parents, family members, teachers, doctors, foster parents, and other adults who may have information about the child. They then make recommendations to the court about any issues or concerns relating to the child’s educational, medical, or emotional needs, and the most appropriate, permanent placement for that child.

“We are thrilled to partner with the WTHBA to be part of the Parade of Homes. Casas for CASA is our signature fundraising event that enables CASA of the South Plains to continue to provide desperately needed volunteers who can advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected foster children in our community,” said Jaclyn Howard, Executive Director for CASA of the
South Plains.

“The WTHBA is honored to have the Casas for CASA event incorporated with our Annual Parade of Homes. We can’t wait to see the playhouses on display that have been built by many of our Parade Builders,” said Gena Godinez, Executive Officer for the West Texas Home Builders Association.
