Men urged to attend CASA 101 as part of “Team Up with CASA” campaign

Every week at least 10 children enter the foster care system due to abuse and neglect. As the number of children entering the foster care system continues to increase, more men are needed to serve as volunteer Advocates working to guide and support this vulnerable population of youth. CASA of the South Plains is currently running its Team Up with CASA recruitment campaign in an effort to encourage more men to become involved in this unique volunteer opportunity. CASA needs 14 more male volunteers by October 20th.

Prospective volunteers can attend a no-obligation informational session, called a CASA 101 that enables the public to learn more about CASA’s mission and what it means to be an Advocate. CASA will host a CASA 101 on Thursday, October 1st at its office at #24 Briercroft Office Park from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. To sign up, please R.S.V.P to Amanda Norfleet by Wednesday, September 30th at (806) 763-2272 or via email at

“Initially I underestimated the impact I could have as a positive male role model in the life of a foster child. These children may suffer emotionally, physically, and even academically. They are our future. They need and deserve our help,” said Craig Bednarz, CASA Advocate.
