Continuing Ed: Sex Trafficking of Men and Boys
During this workshop, attendees will learn how to effectively develop strategies for identifying and engaging with male-identifying youth victimized by commercial sexual exploitation. International and North American research shows that boys can make up as much as half of all child sex trafficking victims, however, continued challenges exist in regional and local efforts to not only identify these survivors, but how to effectively engage and connect them with services. Trending data, typologies experienced by males and misconceptions will be explored along with risk, resilience, and protective factors associated with male trafficking. Attendees will hear about case studies involving prosecution of male trafficking and will learn about proven engagement methodologies.
