Tuesday, May 25, 2021

Zoom Webinar

In this one-hour webinar, the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (DEC) will provide information on the risks and the impacts on children who have, or are, growing up in homes where there is familial and/or caregiver legal or illegal substance misuse or addiction. These children often experience numerous risks and traumas, and they do not have the same childhood development experiences compared to children who grow up in environments where substance misuse is not present. What does that mean? What are the risks? What is the trauma? What should professionals and community members be looking for?

Presenter: National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children

Presenters will provide a definition of Drug Endangered Children, real life examples of risks, long-term impacts and what to look for.

Learning Objectives:
• Participants will leave with:
o Increased knowledge of what the risks to children are when growing up in a home with familial and/or caregivers legal or illegal substance misuse or addiction.
o Real life examples of how to identify drug endangered children as early as possible and how to help.
